FIG’S BAKERY

For Typography I, I was assigned the typeface FIG Script to build a complete restaurant brand identity around. From the start, the letterforms reminded me of embroidery thread. The result is Fig's, a pie bakery rooted in the little mountain town of Waynesville, North Carolina, where the brand leans into a homespun, handmade vibe. The illustrations draw directly from vintage cross-stitch samplers, rendered using the glyph icons found across the broader FIG family (FIG Sans and FIG Serif) to keep the typography and imagery in the same visual language. Everything from the logo to the brand extensions are designed to feel like something you’d find at a grandmother’s house.
